Our history

The beginning of M.E.G.A. S.p.A. goes back in the 60s, four friends working in the steel industry decided to set up a company specialising in forged fittings. The four founders, Mario, Emanuele, Giovanni and Alfredo, decided to use their collective initials as the company name.

M.E.G.A. S.p.A. was founded on 9 May 1962.

Since then, thanks to the constant commitment of its team of employees and capital investments in new machinery, M.E.G.A. S.p.A. has managed to ensure continuity of production and exponential growth by expanding its business to other activities within the energy sector.

In 1988, the Quality Management System was introduced with the main objective of acquiring ISO 9001 certification in order to maintain compliance with subsequent editions of the standard.

In 1990, the Quality Management System received ISO 9001 certification by the authorised body Det Norske Veritas.

In 2009, M.E.G.A. S.p.A. received ASME accreditation as a material organisation, according to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Subsection NCA 3800 and NCA 4200.

In 2016, M.E.G.A. S.p.A.’s in-house testing laboratory received ISO 17025 accreditation, confirming high levels of performance in test execution, staff competence and quality management.

In 2017, M.E.G.A. S.p.A’s welding department received API 5LD accreditation, a prestigious recognition of the company's ability to produce the highest quality internally cladded pipes.

In the same year, M.E.G.A. USA was founded and immediately obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification. MEGA USA is the company's fourth production facility.

Currently, M.E.G.A. S.p.A. is one of the world's leading manufacturers of forged fittings, self-reinforcing inserts and special products for ferrous and non-ferrous plant projects.
